  Breakfast Sausage with Maple Glazed Apples
Makes 4

Ingredients:
4 Breakfast Sausage Patties
2 large cooking apples (such as McIntosh)
1/2 cup (125 mL) maple syrup
4 English muffins or bagels
Preparation:
  • Cook sausage rounds according to package directions.
  • Slice unpeeled apples horizontally into 1/4-inch (5 mm) slices. Use small knife to remove cores (or core first with apple corer). Heat half of maple syrup in large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add 4 to 6 apple slices. Cook 1 minute per side or until apples begin to soften and syrup thickens slightly. Place slices on top of each sausage round.
  • Serve on their own or on top of a bagel or English muffin with egg; drizzle with some of the maple syrup.
